Hairspiration: Maurice Kirya

Hairspiration for this week is Maurice Kirya, a sexy sexy lad from Uganda. I absolutely love Maurice's music, its settling, relaxing, exciting, just that kind of music you put on when you need some peace of mind even if for just 5 minutes.

Maurice is an Afro Soul/Rnb artist hailing from Kampala, Uganda, whose mellow voice and ability to play the guitar is sure to excite any lady! He started his career as a musician while at the age of 15, doing gigs and recording with various other artists.

He say he gets his inspiration from the beauty and unique spirit of his home Uganda, he has performed all over the world and won numerous awards for his music including Best Indie Artist & Best World Music Artist at the Eworld music awards in February, 2011, so far has 2 albums Missubbawa & Book of Kirya set to premier soon. 

Maurice has also dubbed in acting, appearing in the Last King of Scotland, the Academy award winning film about Idi Amin (Side-note: Don't like that film)

I love Maurice because he simply makes it simple and sexy. He does not shy away from experimenting a true nature of a creative being. From the time he broke out in the music scene, he has been doing different things on his head, from leaving it short, shrubing, plaiting and to his current look of bald.

Just like his beautiful music, Maurice Afro head became his trademark head and when he cut his hair it left people a bit confused for a minute but he still retains his sexy charm.

One of Maurice quotes that I picked is this: "It's like dealing with the devil when you throw your esteem away. Believe in yourself and don't let the devil win".
